I did not marry the man I was engaged to. I came here initially for ONE month and was approved at the airport customs terminal to stay that long. When I got here, it was for a visit with my fiance only. Unfortunately, things did not work out and we broke it off. Thank God! However, I was staying with his uncle and aunt, and they had a disabled man in the house. HE turned out to be my sponsor when they asked me to care for him while they were doing long haul trucking. I agreed to do this and we immediately contacted USCIS to get instructions on what needed to be filed first. With that information in hand, we filed everything they requested. All the stuff on the RFE I received has never been mentioned before now and if it had, it would have been filed along with the rest. There are tons of applications, how is one supposed to know what to file and when if there are no specific instructions? I have gone through all the copies we have of all the required applications and I still do not see anything where all these other forms were to be filed along with the I-485.

My former fiance has nothing to do with this, I never intended to stay here when I first came, it was merely a visit but circumstances were such that I was needed at a moment's notice so we filed the necessary paperwork as quickly as possible and thought we were doing the right thing. No one has ever said otherwise until now and I think that is rather unfair to spring it all on me at this point and expect me to get it all done within 30 days. I know I am not the only applicant out there and I realize there is a huge backlog of other applications, I'm not that stupid to think that they will make me a priority, but one measly letter informing me that I was here illegally sometime over a 6 year period is not asking to much is it? Why would they send me all the other Notices of Action if I was here illegally and they knew it?

I have contributed $200 to IV, during (or a bit after) the July-August gold rush. I just don't feel like showing it off to everyone. If they can approve ~ 150 k total EB cases per year @ ~12,500 / month, with EB3 used up for the remainder of this year, they can definitely process at least 25 k during Aug and Sep.
They adjudicated lot more 485s than 25 K last year. This massive adjudication was the reason behind threatened withdrawal of July 07 bulletin.

nojoke dont get emotional. we have no bone to pick with either obama or mcccain. We are talking about who is better for eb immigrants, so either you talk about what obama can offer or has offered to eb immigrants, unfortunately you cannot because obama is anti eb immigrants, so you are spewing the democratic talking points here and changing the topic. Here is a word of caution for this community, the light at the end of the tunnel IS FOR SURE the fast approaching train, and its very close, so be prepared and do what you can to protect yourself.
Regardless of the palin heart beat away from being president, qualification, charisma, campaign message, and other politics, just find out who introduced Obama at the DNC convention. Folks, not sure how one can prepare when one is sure to be hit by a train but I have to say - be prepared because you are about to be hit by a train.

My labor is filed in EB3 , and i am awaiting Certification.
My PD is Nov 2007.
I dont feel that i am gonna get even EAD in the next 10 years, with the current delays,unless something major changes.

This is turning out to be TRUE.
Past week, I made this comment and some people made fun of it. But, it's turning out to be true. They are now fully focusing on EB3 and I think they will continue to do untill they finish all Eb3. Once they reached last quarter then they will make EB2-I/C current and distribute those spill-over visas across EB. They don't have to make EB3-ROW current to give some spill-over to EB3-I. What ever will be left at the end of quarter will be spilled across EB's.
I am expecting lot of REDs on this one.

I am sure they will ask for passport if you only have the I-94. Now if I am required to carry my passport all the time that becomes a real pain particularly if we are on H1/L1 and present for quite a long time.

I am from a border state in India too. The entire border is fenced with 15 feet high razor wire fence and there are BSF personnel who watch it like a hawk. If anyone tries touching
that fence, much less sneak in, they will shoot him between your eyes.

My lawyer also submitted my 485 without the employer's letter. She maintained that since I currently work for the petitioning employer, it is not required. She only submitted my pay advice.
I just asked my lawyer and heard the same thing. Now I am being asked where I got this info from:p Does anyone know the URL to a document that says Employment Letter is a MUST and that your AOS can be denied for not submitting it?

I am on L1 & my I-94 is expiring in a month from now on 11 Dec 2007 . I have applied for my L-Extenstion and is pending for approval.
Given this case - can my wife apply for a EAD with the current L1 approved document (expiring on 11 Dec 2007( and add my L-Extension approval papers later on?
There seems to be a three month delay in getting the EAD - hence wanted to initiate the process earlier and not till my L-Extension papers come-in
Please help me ASAP.

Just to give some of the members information on how airline miles could be used.
typically we would need at least 25,000 miles to redeem a round trip ticket.
Sometimes some individuals may have let say 20,000 miles. they are 5,000 short of a round trip. Then, we can use someone else who may have about 5000 miles to transfer to the individual with 20,000 to make up the 25,000 for redeeming.
There is always a transfer fee associated. typically transferring 5000 miles will cost about $50.
It is not practical to combine several accounts of 2000, 5000, etc to make up 25,000 miles because the transfer fee alone will get to be around $250 to $300. For $300 you might as well just buy the ticket.
Some of you have been willing to offer a couple of thousand miles. this would be used only if i can find someone who is just a few thousand miles short of 25000 so we can combine.
I am keeping a log of all the miles donors. Please be aware that not all miles can be used especially when they are just a few thousand miles.
Miles Donors when you PM me, please mention how many miles you would like to donate. Some of you are sending me a message that you would like to donate some miles. But if you do not mention how much miles you have, i cannot decide if we can use them.

If this has not been done already..a good idea might be to spread this message among the hundreds of International Student (including Indian/Chinese) associations. They are already having trouble entering as graduates into a tough job market and this anti-H1B proposal will only make things worse...no additional incentive for students to join this IV initiative. I will forward to my alma mater and couple of other student associations I am aware of.
