Just to let every one know, I am a Hindu to the very root, but I am also the following:
a) A human, who would prefer peace over violence
b) An Indian, who loves the fact that it is country of Buddha and Gandhi
c) An immigrant, who associate with other immigrants on this forum to be treated in fairness.
d) A would be American, who would like provide the best values of this country to my kids.
I am all that.....And I am proud of them all..

most of the desi consultants seem to be concentrated in NJ or Chicago. Are there any reliable desi consultants for H-1 in CA? What are the websites which give info in this direction?
What are the steps to be followed and things to watch out for in selecting a desi consultant?

Didn't we have these discussions over and over before? and the admins telling us to stop because IV goals are set and will not change?
If you just want to argue and waste time, lookup previous threads discussing this and you'll have enough reading material for weeks to come.
Because he does not care whether his personal agenda born out of righteous anger (politics doesn't care whether your anger is righteous or frustrated) fractures the already divided community. He thinks that he can get out 15-20 guys on the hill and get a 2 line bill that will end country caps. Well, Why not talk to his friends and get them on the hill? No, he wants to ignore the bylaws/agenda of this organization and wants to carve a separate faction on IV that will work for ending country caps. If some one does not know that he is doing a mistake, we can try to help him see the mistake. If he/she knows it, Do we need to tell him/her?

technically you are an IV member because you have an ID, that you created on your own. You probably went to the meeting with the IV crowd then branched out..good for you. Wonder why the Stanfords and Harvards are dying to admit you:D
Obviously you seem to be in a very unique situation, and you are taking steps to solve your issues in your own way, nothing wrong with that. good luck, to each his own.

For some reason I thought the difference between Welcome Email and Card Ordered email is only couple of days.
One of my friend's family got GC (friend's wife and son - approx 3 weeks after mail). But his medical records were lost in USCIS - got RFE to produce medical records. His GC got delayed by 6 months.
So looking at the way things are going on, have patience - now it may take some time, but it will come.
Just you have to see, what that RFE is for.

What I am saying is simply this: If you don't limit the number of immigrants from one country, you essentially become a part of that country with the influx of people coming from there. This is what people in America are afraid of. They can't limit the influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico and other latin america countries, and it is becoming a big deal for them, since they don't want to be forced to learn spanish next time they go to a diner.
Is it racist? probably so. But remember, it is their country; They make the laws. They can make people dance for 5 minutes at ports of entry while they film it and post it to youtube if they like (see recent articles about search and seizures of returning greencard holders' electronic equipment).

No. I am on very good terms with my original lawyer from my GC sponsoring firm. I'd rather he continue to represent me as I trust him more.
Going back is not an option right now as they recently laid off a ton of people too. They wont take me back unless they can staff me on a project right away. No one pays bench salaries these days.

Yes - thats the irony.... we can only guess USCIS should be working correctly... but no one is there to question them about there bad working...
i am also hoping and guessing USCIS should do there work correctly even after knowing that there will again be some visa numbers wasted in the drain.....

if you read previous discussion and particulary logiclife post, you will find, any immigration reform bill will not be discussed let alone passed until it resolves illegal immigration issue

only chance SKILL has is thru CIR or other forum where it address illegal issue,
my point is we don't need any legislative change at this point,
IV is for legals who are already here legally and our demands are very simple, such as if they allow use to file I485 with being current and if they use unused visa numbers and allocate them to over subscribed countries our life will be lot better,
we need to rethink our stratergy and stop knocking these law makers, who cares only about illegals, either they are against them or far them, but they just don't really care about legals

Does this vote gives us an overview of how the PDs might be spread out all over? From this poll, it looks like there are not many applications from Jan 2005 onwards as compared to prior to Jan 2005.

Yes, a PM would also work even if the mail is bounced. You can make it a point you send these PM only to those who are contributing or have been contributing in the past. That way we can avoid any spies in IV.
If the bill will come up in Feb, behind the scene work must have started or will start after the first 100 hours plan (which should end soon).

You see what I am saying. I am merely using your argument to highlight the ignorance embedded in your post.
I leave it up to IV core to followup on these ideas. I repeat, as I have done so many times, it is all about marketing + media presence. We won the July 2007 visa bulletin battle because of adverse media reaction to the state department. Grass roots stuff is all good, but no one will ever notice it.
I repeat, as I have done so many times, asking others to work on your ideas (which you seem to think are original and your own) is common wisdom on these forums. Next time, try to come up with something original.

Driver License issued till 2007 were not based on immigration [i797 or I94], I was issued driver license for 7 years...
Now a days DMV is asked for I-94 and I 797 or EAD card validity at the time of License renewal....
Tax return documents are also not a reflection of your immigration status or validity.
Many of us get confused on Visa Stamp on passport and Immigration status.
Visa Stamp is to let anyone cross the border and I-797 is a document which tells your immigration status. I might have a expired Visa on my passport but have a valid I-797.
If anyone asks you about Immigration Status it is advisible to show I-797 rather then anything else.
